    Movies
    Saw Batman tonight.

    The Movie: Highly entertaining.
The black couple next to us exemplifying the racial stereotype: not so much.

Saw Hellboy 2 on Friday. Also entertaining, but probably not necessary to see on the large screen.

Ranting ahoy. This one's not for everyone. )

WA Ren Faire (was Gig Harbor Ren Faire) has been canceled
    Dearest Friends, Family and Supporters,

It is with our deepest regret that we must announce that the
Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire, planned to be held August 2, 3, 9,
10, 16, 17, 2008, in Belfair Washington has been canceled.

Due to challenges with the permitting process and after a meeting
with the Department of Natural Resources yesterday and a meeting this
morning with the Mason County Commissioners, we have not and will not be
granted our permits to run the Faire this season. We have done
everything that we could have done and have exhausted all avenues to
make this event happen on the new site this year.

We offer our deepest and sincerest apologies to all that this
cancellation will affect. We understand that plans have been made,
tickets have been bought and travel plans have been arranged in order to
    attend the Washington Renaissance Faire.

It is our sincerest hope to work with the Mason County
Commissioners, the Department of Natural Resources and the Planning
Commission for Mason County to resolve these challenges satisfactorily
in order to re-open the Washington Renaissance Faire in August of 2009
on our new site in Belfair, Washington.

Thank you all for the support and love that you have offered us over
the past 11 years and know that you have our deepest gratitude for your
support both now through these trying times and in the future as we grow
    and prosper.

    Sincerely,
Ron and Teresa Cleveland and all the

    Moving Sale
We have a moving sale all week at the current house. We need to get rid of our extra stuff which has accumulated over the years. Come on by and check it out or have your friends come by and check it out. It is open all week and all of this weekend. What doesn't go (or taken while we are not looking) will be dropped off at the thrift store.

There is a variety of quite a bit of material which has never been cut. Patterns, multiple sewing machines (which need tune ups), TOYS!!!! some tools, Dresses from size 6 to size 14, VHS's, LP's, Books, 15 or so years worth of Rusty and Norwescon Membership Books/Calendars, Microwave, Antique Blender and much much more!

    The address is:

I was playing a bit of Metal Gear Solid 4 over the weekend, and was fully convinced that it was fucking brilliant...

    Spoiler Warning. )

So, that little interlude along with great eye candy makes this a fantastic game.

About the only complaint I have is that some of the cut scenes are really, really long. I clocked one of the mission briefings in at around 30 minutes. It's almost like one of those anime with the huge amounts of exposition inserted in between segments of gameplay.

It's great if you like that sort of thing. Unfortunately, I haven't played the whole series, so much of the obvious references to backstory I'm not familiar with and can't fully appreciate. Unfortunately, the series recap doesn't happen until about one quarter of the way into the game.
